1. The agreement
By installing Kartel ("the app") on a Shopify store you ("the merchant") agree to these terms and to the Kartel privacy policy, which together form the agreement between you and Shreyas Labs ("we"). If you do not agree, uninstall the app.
2. What the app does
The app lets you create discounts, bundles, free gifts and discount codes, and keeps matching discounts in your Shopify store. Shopify applies them at checkout. You decide which offers run, for which products and customers, and for how long, and you remain responsible for the prices and promotions you offer your customers.
3. Plans and billing
Plans, included usage and per-order charges are shown in the app and on the Shopify App Store listing. Shopify bills them with your other Shopify charges, under Shopify's own billing terms. Usage charges never exceed the monthly cap you approve. On the Free plan, offers pause for the rest of the month once its included orders are used; checkout is never held up.
4. Data processing terms
- You are the controller of your customers' personal data; we process it only to apply the offers you configure.
- We process only what the privacy policy lists, for that purpose alone, and never sell it or use it for marketing.
- We encrypt data in transit, restrict access to it, and delete your store's data when you uninstall.
- We assist with customer data-access and erasure requests through Shopify's privacy webhooks, and notify you within 72 hours of confirming a personal-data breach affecting your store.
5. Your responsibilities
Keep your Shopify account secure, check offers before turning them on (test mode and "Try it out" are provided for this), and do not use the app for unlawful or misleading promotions.
6. Availability and liability
The app is provided as-is. We aim for continuous operation but do not guarantee it, and we are not liable for Shopify outages or for losses arising from offers you configure. Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the preceding three months.
7. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app; offers stop at once. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse or non-payment with reasonable notice. On termination we delete your store's data as described in the privacy policy.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to installed merchants by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept them.
